Warong Kopi
Situated at Pandan Beach in Lundu. Just an hour and a half’s drive from Kuching, you would arrive at this beach café.
This beach by far is one of the best beaches in Southern Sarawak region, with its azure blue waters and beautiful,clean beach. It is a great escapade for those who seeks tranquility from the hustle and bustle of city life.
If you are looking for a beach you can call your own, this is the perfect place to be, especially on a week day. Weekends and holidays tend to attract visitors from the surrounding area and Kuchingites.
Side entrance made from wild rattan and old belian posts. Pandan Beach Cafe , also known as warong kopi in the kampung is an eating place situated right at the beachfront. The views from the warong kopi are fantastic. Once you are there, you can just sit and gaze at the beach doing nothing much.
The cafe can accommodate up to 40 pax at one time. But even if there is 100 people wanting to have a BBQ dinner at the beach (gets a little wet and windy on a rainy nite though), we have no problem in catering for our guests. Just give us ample notice and the beach is all yours.
Our cafe is inspired by the surroundings, using natural materials such as rattan and Bakau (mangrove) at our entrances. We had a local, Pakcik Jaafar, who initially couldn't see why we would trouble ourselves in getting the rattan, bamboo and bakau for the fencing and entrance gates, but eventually was able to see the 'green approach' that we are trying to instill within the local kampung folks. We are happy to get them involved in the setting up ,and have plans for more activities involving them in the future.
